Summary
The PACS administrator is the digital imaging liaison responsible for development, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the PACS (RIS) system and respective imaging modalities. Acts as an interface between the radiology system/department and all coordinating hospital/clinic computer systems; includes off site & onsite; and their managers to ensure network digital imaging initiatives are met. Works with IT to maintain in conjunction image and information stability, integrity and efficient operation of the PACS (RIS). Works greater than 50% of time functioning as Rad Tech providing patient care imaging. Works under the general guidance of the Radiology Manager.

1.0 FTE, (80 Hours Per Pay Period)


Job Duties

Ensure day to day PACS/RIS operation image workflow, archiving, and other related activities.*
Investigate, identify, troubleshoot & resolve issues.*
Knowledge of DICOM & HL7.*
Working with Radiology Manager on processes and workflows, strategic planning and ongoing enhancements.*
Plan and implement software and hardware upgrades as necessary.*
Regularly attends monthly department meetings (75% required).*
Able to work independently as a Radiological Technologist duties; competent with radiographic & CT exams; assisting with patient care items.*
Completing & routing of exams, paperwork & computer functions.*
Perform EKG's, Holter/event monitor.*

Required Education and Experience
AART certified.
PACS certification within one year of training completion.
Minimum requirement one to two years of experience in radiology.
Prefer four years of CT experience.
Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports and prioritize work.
Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team setting; work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Work requires continuous attention to detail; excellent written and oral skills required.
Must be well organized and a self-starter; work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
40 hour work week includes a mix of 8 and 12 hour rotating shifts with weekend and holiday rotation.
